I use it while traveling, especially longer duration traveling, often while abroad.  I won't name names but some streaming services are blocked as soon as I leave my home viewing area, even within the U.S.  There are other independent VPN client apps for Apple TV but are often behind a paywall.  So, I created this one that is free, built from open source code and doesn't rely on any third party. I do wish to see  stronger than ec255 keying mechanism, and a post quantum option.\n\nMaybe you don’t even want option flags as part of the negotiation. What I would like to see is the existing along with a P521 and a post quantum safe variant. I’m thinking something like an endpoint that supports options B and C, send a payload packet cryptographically padded ending two option bytes that indicate whether option B or C are supported and if both are which would be preferred, but formatted in a way an existing option A endpoint could ignore it. Assuming additional options are supported, you discard existing key material and reinitialize the tunnel with the most mutually preferred cipher suites.\n\nThe premise of wireguard being computationally cheap and efficient, is either true or it is a lie. If true, reusing nothing on a connection upgrade leaks nothing and doesn’t waste many resources. We can afford to throw away one short key exchange. It also makes any attempt to mess with a negotiation computationally expensive because you actually have to break the existing wireguard in real time before a second packet is exchanged before you even gain the capability to discourage someone from adding a cipher upgrade and forcing you to start from zero.\n\nFor an analogy, imagine an attacker having to break DES faster than someone can initiate and complete an upgrade to 3DES or AES keys, yet gain nothing usable towards breaking the keys for the impending cipher upgrade. To even determine if a connection was upgraded you have to actually break the initial encryption.\n\nThe final piece would an application interface, that if applied would use the remote destination IP and a single parameter as input. The returning function call would respond with the current keying option A/B/C and leave it up to the application to warn, drop a connection or proceed.
