I called this morning, during business hours, to try to reschedule an appointment and got the bot. Eventually the office called me back to actually finish rescheduling (the bot can't actually do it) but I missed the call by one minute and when I tried to call back I got the bot again, who asked the same questions again. I did finally just manage to get on the phone with a human, but it honestly would have just been better for me as a patient to leave a voicemail. I'm not sure what is gained by the AI bot, except now maybe my dental office heard a recording of me yelling into it which is embarrassing. We started about about a month ago.  We use it only when we can’t answer or after hours.  It has scheduled a number of patients, including new patients after hours.   It fills schedule opening on hygiene.  It has taken an emergency call and forwarded the patient to the emergency line.  It has taken a few after hours payments.  If it is unable to help it takes then info and sends it to the platform for us to reach out to the patient.  It is not perfect but to supplement our team it is great.    \nI do tell patients patients clearly what it can/can’t do and that it is it unable to help us we get a detailed message and will get back to them.  Sometimes people get frustrated but once I tell them what it can/can’t do and that it only answers if the office is closed or we are on the other line 99% of people have been fine.    \nIt can be very helpful as long as you aren’t expecting it to replace the person answering your calls all together.
