If he does, you don’t need any other device at his location. You’d run your Tailscale as an exit node on his Apple TV and you are good. If he doesn’t have an Apple TV, the choice between a Raspberry Pi and GLinet router is yours. I am non-US and have a Raspberry Pi at a sibling’s location in the US running an exit node. This was before Pis became crazy expensive. \n\nOn your travel end though, I always say to get a travel router. Primarily because I advise most people doing this for work, to ALWAYS use a wired connection and disable all Bluetooth and WiFi connections. Seeing as the laptop is yours, I’d say go hardcore and physically remove the WiFi and Bluetooth hardware for the duration of your trip.
