I use Norton and have for almost 20 years now, I've never personally had a virus or issue with Norton outside of little annoyances here and there with pop-up offers (that you can disable). There are also some false positives that are a little annoying to deal with, but I figure that's the price to pay for having good protection.\n\nWindows Defender is a baseline but not a great choice if you care about 0-day malware and exploits (it still performs well but history shows it wasn't always good and got poor ratings in this regard just a decade ago, while Norton has always had solid ratings).
