This is especially true in the Chinatown/Japantown part of the International District. I would not recommend anything east of the I-5 bridge (Little Saigon) unfortunately, because the homeless population tends to crowd there.\n\nSince you're in the center of the city, you'll find obviously homeless people roaming around the CID, but in my 5 years living in the location near you, I've never felt unsafe; they will yell and scream but most are non confrontational and don't interact with you if you're minding your own business.\n\nThe transportation is extremely good, probably the best in the city - you don't need a car to get around Seattle, and if you do need one, there's plenty of covered parking, especially near Kobe Terrace. \n\nThe food is fantastic if you love Asian food. Probably the best Asian food in the city around a 4-5 block radius (Thai/Japanese/Chinese specifically).\n\nI've also noticed a lot more vibrant and younger people in the area when I walk around during the day, so it's definitely transitioned away from only old Chinese grandma/grandpas (which I grew up with).","can_gild":false,"can_mod_post":false,"collapsed":false,"collapsed_because_crowd_control":null,"collapsed_reason":null,"collapsed_reason_code":null,"comment_type":null,"controversiality":0,"created":1751522260,"created_utc":1751522260,"distinguished":null,"downs":0,"edited":false,"gilded":0,"gildings":{},"id":"n12wyez","is_submitter":false,"likes":null,"link_id":"t3_1lqh8r4","locked":false,"mod_note":null,"mod_reason_by":null,"mod_reason_title":null,"mod_reports":[],"name":"t1_n12wyez","no_follow":true,"num_reports":null,"parent_id":"t3_1lqh8r4","permalink":"/r/SeattleWA/comments/1lqh8r4/considering_a_move_near_seattles_international/n12wyez/","removal_reason":null,"replies":"","report_reasons":null,"retrieved_on":1751522277,"saved":false,"score":7,"score_hidden":false,"send_replies":true,"stickied":false,"subreddit":"SeattleWA","subreddit_id":"t5_2vbli","subreddit_name_prefixed":"r/SeattleWA","subreddit_type":"public","top_awarded_type":null,"total_awards_received":0,"treatment_tags":[],"unrepliable_reason":null,"ups":7,"user_reports":[]}]}
