Neighborhood is called Youngstown. All around, we love the neighborhood. Sometimes in the summer, if a light wind is coming from the north, the burning metal fumes from the plant can make the neighborhood smell like a welding shop, but this isn't that common. I only smell it like 2-3 times per year. Overall the air quality is pretty good. There used to be a big RV encampment right by the plant, but 2 years ago, the city put in a median-separated bike lane and kicked all of the campers out. It's a lot safer now that the encampment is gone. I've walked my dog at night, and you'll see others doing the same. Not dangerous, but still might be a good idea to have pepper spray with you or something if you are walking around late at night. Every once in a while you get campers down on the trail below dragonfly park, which can be annoying. The neighborhood is really good about reporting illegal camps, abandoned vehicles and rotting RVs, so they usually don't last long anymore.","can_gild":false,"can_mod_post":false,"collapsed":false,"collapsed_because_crowd_control":null,"collapsed_reason":null,"collapsed_reason_code":null,"comment_type":null,"controversiality":0,"created":1743885229,"created_utc":1743885229,"distinguished":null,"downs":0,"edited":false,"gilded":0,"gildings":{},"id":"mllfnla","is_submitter":false,"likes":null,"link_id":"t3_1jsbgco","locked":false,"mod_note":null,"mod_reason_by":null,"mod_reason_title":null,"mod_reports":[],"name":"t1_mllfnla","no_follow":true,"num_reports":null,"parent_id":"t3_1jsbgco","permalink":"/r/WestSeattleWA/comments/1jsbgco/considering_a_move_to_west_seattle_near_nucor/mllfnla/","removal_reason":null,"replies":"","report_reasons":null,"retrieved_on":1743885246,"saved":false,"score":17,"score_hidden":false,"send_replies":true,"stickied":false,"subreddit":"WestSeattleWA","subreddit_id":"t5_3ie70","subreddit_name_prefixed":"r/WestSeattleWA","subreddit_type":"public","top_awarded_type":null,"total_awards_received":0,"treatment_tags":[],"unrepliable_reason":null,"ups":17,"user_reports":[]}]}
